Britney Spears started pleather campaign together with PETA. She is concerned about staying fashionable while not harming animals.
You can read more about this here and here. Also there is a site coming about pleather: PleatherYourself.com

Who is Britney Spears?
Is this a joke or do you just not watch television (probably a good idea anyway)?
Assuming the latter, she's the latest teeny bopper artificial pop music icon constructed by the music industry to suck up the money of parents everywhere through their teenage (and younger) girl's hands.
So this is a good thing because clueless kids will follow her trend and (hopefully) be semi-vegan, even if it's because it's the cool thing to do.
Despite all this, I still won't listen to her "music".
Oh and I hope all that vast amount of make-up she wears is cruelty free.

Thanks. :-)
I don't watch TV but I'd heard her name -- you affirmed my vague impressions.
If the consuming sheep want a barbie-doll to idolize and imitate then I suppose it's great that she purports to be anti-leather!
