Sarah Thomas from "The Wharf" newspaper writes:
"Canary Wharf Group is to install 27 new cameras in the Foyer of the One Canada Square tower (Canary Wharf, London, UK), following recent invasions by animal rights activists.
Protestors from Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty have been targetting the tower-based Bank of New York, which holds shares in behalf of US investors in controversial firm Huntingdon Life Sciences.
A security source told The Wharf the cameras were being put in place to compile evidence should activists ever face prosecution.
SHAC has organised a number of Wharf protests in recent weeks, including an 11-hous sit-in of BoNY's office on the 49th floor.
Natasha Taylor from SHAC said 'All our protests have been legal. Even the Metropolitan Police said there was nothing they could do when we occupied the offices'."
